Rädlinger Primus Line expands product portfolio

New generation of low-pressure liners: The enhanced fabric design reduces the derating values in bends

Rädlinger Primus Line, a leading manufacturer and supplier of trenchless pressure pipe rehabilitation solutions, has introduced significant additions to its product portfolio. These innovations promise to enhance cost efficiency and technical performance in the water sector, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability.

Introducing the DN 450 liner for water applications

A key highlight of the expanded Primus Line portfolio is the new DN 450 liner, specifically designed for water applications. Engineered for optimal cost-effectiveness, this liner has a pressure rating of PN 10, making it a reliable and efficient choice for a wide range of rehabilitation projects.

For projects requiring higher pressure capabilities, the existing PN 16 rated DN 450 liner remains available, giving customers the flexibility to select the best solution for their specific needs. This dual offering underscores Rädlinger Primus Line’s commitment to providing cost-effective, high-performance solutions tailored to individual projects.

The new liner system delivers a 20% cost saving compared to the existing system and is readily available from stock. It has already received multiple international hygienic certifications, with approvals in additional countries underway. Beyond drinking water applications, this advanced liner can also be used for sewage, fire water, and saltwater pipelines where hygienic certifications are not required.

Enhanced hybrid liner configuration for superior performance

Rädlinger Primus Line has also introduced an enhanced hybrid liner configuration (ED liner) that combines Kevlar® and polyester materials in an improved fabric design, offering several key advantages:

  • Optimised cost-effectiveness: The innovative material blend enhances strength while maintaining economic viability, delivering a high-performance yet cost-efficient solution.
  • Improved flexibility around bends: Designed for installations with challenging pipe geometries, the ED liner easily accommodates bends of up to 45 degrees (r=1.5xD), reducing installation complexity and project timelines.

These improvements make the hybrid liner particularly well-suited to the demanding requirements of the water industry, where precision and reliability are crucial. The existing hybrid liner configuration (ND liner) will remain available throughout 2025 but will eventually be phased out in favor of the new ED liner design.

Andreas Gross, Head of Business Unit – International Water Projects at Rädlinger Primus Line, states:

“The new liners provide engineers and operators with additional tools to rehabilitate aging water infrastructure. After three years of development, rigorous testing, and certification processes, we are proud to introduce this new product line.”

Short connector design for space-saving installations

Another standout feature of the expanded portfolio is the new short connector design, a vital innovation for projects in confined spaces or areas with limited access. By reducing the connector width by up to 9 centimeters (depending on size), this solution is ideal for installation in existing chambers, eliminating the need for excavation.

Additionally, Rädlinger Primus Line now offers connectors with integrated reducers, such as when a DN 500 Primus Line® system is installed in a DN 600 host pipe. This compact design minimises excavation, eliminates the need for an additional reducer, and speeds up assembly—enhancing efficiency and cost savings.

Commitment to sustainable and efficient infrastructure

With these latest innovations, Rädlinger Primus Line continues to prioritise sustainability and efficiency in infrastructure rehabilitation. By advancing trenchless technology, the company delivers solutions that minimise environmental impact, reduce project downtime, and provide long-lasting benefits to utilities and municipalities worldwide.
