Jet Aire Sparkles

"Organising a campaign that raised over £30,000 is a fantastic effort from Leeds Cares. Jet Aire were delighted to play our part" Jet Aire Services Chairman, Charlie Kirk

At the end of last year, Jet Aire Services sponsored a fundraising initiative launched by Leeds Hospitals Charity to support staff, patients and families in our local NHS hospitals over Christmas.

The Sponsor the Sparkle fundraising campaign invited businesses to sponsor illuminated wall-mounted stars installed on the Brotherton Wing at Leeds General Infirmary. Jet Aire donated £500 to Sponsor the Sparkle and was proud to see its star on display over the festive period.

Leeds Hospitals Charity supports eight areas which include Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds Children’s Hospital, Leeds Cancer Centre, St James’s University Hospital, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital, Wharfdale Hospital and Leeds Dental Institute. Working with local communities, schools and businesses, the charity also provides millions in additional funding each year for Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.

This week, Leeds Hospitals Charity got in touch with Jet Aire to offer a message of thanks and an update on the success of the campaign. The company was delighted to hear that the collective effort of Sponsor the Sparkle raised a total of £30,000 for Leeds hospitals!

As well as adding some festive sparkle to Leeds NHS hospitals, the campaign funded trees and decorations across the hospitals and Christmas dinner with all the trimmings for staff working away from their loved ones on Christmas day. The money raised was also used to provide over 5,000 presents for patients spending Christmas in hospital, as well as pay for taxis enabling NHS staff to get to work safely.

Leeds Hospitals Charity said: “Thank you so much to all the team at Jet Aire for supporting us in the first year of our Sparkle campaign. Your generous support at Christmas made a huge difference. You helped to add some festive joy to hospital staff, patients, and their families at a challenging and emotional time of year. Staff in our hospitals are continuing to work very hard under unbelievable pressure, yet they keep showing incredible kindness and compassion to every patient, day after day.”

Jet Aire Services Chairman, Charlie Kirk, said: “Organising a campaign that raised over £30,000 is a fantastic effort from Leeds Cares. Jet Aire were delighted to play our part and it was wonderful to hear how the money was put to such good use over Christmas.”
