Westrade’s much anticipated No-Dig Live 2020, originally scheduled to take place at the East of England Showground in Peterborough, instead leveraged the online opportunity and the event, organised as a collaboration between the Sewer Rehab Contact Group (SWCG), UKSTT & Westrade proved to be just as popular as ever. Over the course of the two days, there were more than 450 registrations from amongst the event’s dedicated trenchless technology following.
Day one of the event, which focused on Sewer Rehab, attracted an impressive roll call of speakers who stepped up to the virtual rostrum: Rob Kelly of Anglian Water, Callum Meredith of Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, Keith Bingham and Cathal Kelly of AECOM and Irish Water, Mark Sefton of Northern Ireland Water and last but by no means least, Thomas White and Andrew Warren of Severn Trent. Day two proved just as much of a hit. Speaking on the day were: Mark Lusher of Thames Water, Iain Naismith of IKT, Julian Britton of Wessex Water and Thomas Ogden of Yorkshire Water. A number of the guest speakers remarked on how engaged their digital audience was – demonstrated by the sheer number and quality of the questions posed to them.
Paul Harwood, Managing Director of Westrade, commented: “In the current climate, it is vital that we can adapt our events to work just as effectively in the digital space and engender that same sense of camaraderie and community that we create when we are all together physically. The feedback we have had from our attendees confirmed our own hope that we achieved this, so hugest thanks to our speakers and attendees for coming together to make No-Dig Live the unmissable exchange of information and ideas that it always has been.”
Dawn Greig, Chair of UKSTT added: “We are so grateful to the Sewer Rehab Contact Group, many of whom are UKSTT Patrons, for their time and energy in putting this together with moderator Iain Naismith. The benefit to our Membership of such a high profile and enlightening online event is incontrovertible. We look forward to working closely with them again on future Trenchless events, along with organiser Westrade.”
