German Trenchless Societies GSTT & RSV Announce Merger Plan Discussions

The German pipeline rehabilitation association RSV and the German Society for Trenchless Technology, GSTT, are holding talks about a possible merger.

The German pipeline rehabilitation association RSV and the German Society for Trenchless Technology, GSTT, are holding talks about a possible merger. In a statement, the associations Have informed their 227 members, both companies and personal members.

“GSTT and RSV have many common areas of activities. Therefore, the executive boards of both associations have decided to hold exploratory talks about a merger. The
aim is to establish a strong joint federal association, of which the name has not yet been determined the associations wrote in an email circular. The German Society for Trenchless Technologies is one of the 26 regional Affiliated societies of the ISTT (the International Society for Trenchless Technology), a worldwide network, which aims to advance the science and practice of trenchless technology for the public benefit.

RSV and GSTT also stated: “The common goal is to establish strong lobbying for trenchless construction methods and for pipeline rehabilitation, which we can implement in future as a joint association with greater power and market presence. With bundled competence, the new association would have more possibilities to be the contact partner for network operators and citizens, to strengthen the work on regulations and to represent the spectrum of trenchless technologies nationally and internationally. “We are thus following the frequently expressed wish of the members “ they continued.

The decision on whether and how the merger can be implemented is now to be taken together with the members of both associations. The next step is a survey in which ideas and wishes are to be expressed by the members.
