Flow Innovations from GF Piping Systems

Ingo Pfirrmann, Head of Sales for the Utility Division at GF Piping Systems in Germany will present its broad portfolio of product systems geared towards sustainability and safety at IFAT trade show from 13 to 17 May 2024.

From May 13 to 17, 2024, the Swiss company will present its broad portfolio of product systems geared towards sustainability and safety at IFAT trade show. The spectrum ranges from infrared welding technology and industrial valves to repair solutions and pressure management for utilities. GF Piping Systems will also display applications for green energy such as hydrogen and cold district heating.

Challenges such as water scarcity and increasingly ambitious sustainability regulations are leading both the municipal and industrial sectors to rethink their approach to water. To reach its goals, the water sector requires cutting-edge technical solutions. IFAT Munich 2024, the largest trade fair for water, wastewater, recycling and municipal technology, hence focuses on project consulting and products that make water applications more efficient, cost-effective and future-proof.

Innovation and flexibility for industrial applications

The recently introduced IR-63 M infrared fusion machine maintains the established technology of its predecessor while integrating comprehensive hard- and software improvements for a streamlined user experience. As a result, the IR-63 M is capable of welding materials such as PVDF, ECTFE, PP-H, PP-n, PE, or PVC-U with 20% shorter preparation times, 30% fewer installation steps, and 50% shorter cooling times. At the same time, visitors will be able to experience the Butterfly Valve 565 Lug-Style, the newest addition to the company’s portfolio of lightweight and corrosion-free valves. Thanks to its construction, the 565 can now be used as an end valve which enables piping systems to be disassembled one-sided. As standard, the 565 Lug-Style features plug-in inserts that can be configured to fulfill the needs of a wide variety of applications. Furthermore, GF Piping Systems’ industry experts at the booth will be able to demonstrate how the company’s portfolio can be implemented across the hydrogen value chain.

Increasing the service life of municipal water networks

At IFAT Munich 2024, GF Piping Systems will also display its proven solutions for utilities. In addition to NeoFlow, a pressure regulating valve with an axial flow construction, the company will focus on MULTI/JOINT® 3000 Plus, a quick, safe, and simple to connect solution for water or gas pipe networks. It features a patented restraint pull-out resistance system which is designed to meet the specifications of a diverse range of materials and outside diameters and does not require special tools. The MULTI/JOINT® 3000 Plus range was extended with the dimensions DN900, DN925, DN1000, and DN1025 for water transport lines in early 2024. In order to make the application of GF Piping Systems products more tangible, visitors at the booth will also be introduced to an ongoing cold district heating project and can take part in a repair and maintenance competition featuring NeoFlow.

Tackling complex utility projects with a broad network expertise

Using renewable energies to supply residential and industrial buildings by establishing cold local heating networks, for example, is a climate-neutral alternative to oil and gas for heating and air conditioning. However, planning and implementing such projects requires additional expertise. GF Piping Systems Germany is one of the founders of the so called “NETZ-WERK REGENERATIV”, a group of interdisciplinary experts. The network unites planners, manufacturers, and implementers to jointly realize energy and cost[1]efficient utility solutions for existing and new buildings, districts, or municipalities. At IFAT in Munich, representatives will showcase how they can support customers in all project phases: from feasibility and planning to storage solutions and heat transfer media, all the way to piping systems and connection technologies – created as a one-stop shop.

Ingo Pfirrmann, Head of Sales for the Utility Division at GF Piping Systems in Germany, is looking forward to the upcoming IFAT 2024: “We are an established partner of the water sector, and our products have been implemented in a diverse range of applications by customers across industries. We believe that by offering complete solutions, including high-performance piping systems, innovative installation technologies such as electrofusion or hydraulic butt fusion, and comprehensive project support, we can empower the water sector and contribute to a sustainable transformation – true to our motto ‘Improving water quality for Life’.”
